We have a dream: No one should ever again be bored at a trade show. And visitors should always know why they came in the first place. We would like to make this dream reality with you. Our roles are already ideally distributed: you know your business and we know how to package it. Together we can spawn ideas and together we can evolve. Organically. Continuously. Sustainably.

What makes us so special

Responsible zaniness – a combination of words that don’t seem to mesh; at least until you meet us. We have more than 30 years of experience in the business. The glue that holds the extremes together is called passion. We would never think of delivering interchangeable, standardized products. And we are equally less inclined to dream away our responsibilities.

Romantic idealism fit to scale - that sounds like a contradiction in terms until you meet us. Because we create the impossible from the manageable. We focus on what works: personal relations, shared spirit, distinctiveness. That is what gets lost when you want to be big solely for the sake of being big.

Family-style professionalism – that’s another word combination that doesn’t seem to fit; at least until you get to know us. The core cell of our business is close family, and we have learned that business can strengthen the family while the family can strengthen the business. The secret formula behind it? Trust.

Our History

Most success stories start in a garage. Beard, long hair, rock and roll and cartons of cigarettes – that was what distinguished our founder Jürgen Braun when he took on his first job for a trade show construction project as a side-line to his main job at the Mannesmann company. It was in a garage that he built an improvised workshop for building his first trade show exhibit: a giant pyramid for the Bobcat company, a manufacturer of utility vehicles. Wooden slats, bales of fabric, carpets and toolboxes have been his constant companions ever since.

Our Milestones

Beard and braids have turned grey, but the initial enthusiasm still radiates from his every pore, even though we are now called Viavend and no longer located in Germerswang in Bavaria, but in Ratingen in the Rhineland. Today, Jürgen runs the business with his daughter Martina Braun, who played between the stacks of material as a child and learned the importance of directness, diligence and perseverance at an early age. She studied banking; not to work in a bank, but to strengthen the business expertise of Viavend.

And without the organizational competence of Jürgen’s wife Sabine Braun, the company would not have grown and flourished continuously – even though she has been in retirement for a while. It is thanks to her that what started as a side-line grew into a full-time occupation and that trade show construction became an all-around provider of event, trade show and presentation marketing. Without interruption. The proof: Many of our clients have been loyal to us for 20 years or more.

Grow together successfully – that has always been our motto and we have built on it continuously over the decades. It’s true for our employees, our clients and our business partners. Although we have passed our former core business in trade show construction on to the next generation of garage start-ups, we still carry the spirit within us. Only now our job is at the side of decision-makers, because that is also part of our history. We are experienced in both aspects of the tasks: the construction side and the client’s side. And uniting both in a balanced way creates the premium fuel for peak performance.
