The traditional Italian company Sprerlari is known for its fine almond and hazelnut chocolates that are manufactured according to an old family recipe. The entire message of the manufacturer focused on the Italian way of life and on high quality. Working with an eye on exclusity was called for, so superlatives had to be projected. The installation of nothing less than a historic arcade café in the style of Lombardy was the solution.
Good to Know
If you love sweets, you love life. That was our motto for the design of the stand for the 2019 ISM exhibition. A northern Italian confectionery with a historic ambience, opening on to an imaginary piazza and decorated with the finest of delicacies. The Sperlari representatives should feel just as much at home in their historical environment as the visitors.
So we designed a corner of an Italian piazza in the style of the 16th century – with round arches, open counter, stucco and frescoes. A golden yellow hue emphasized the high quality of the confectionery – on the façade and walls, on the counter and on a man-high etagere on which the products were displayed in glass containers for a historical feeling. Café ambience de luxe with a distinct reference to wonderful hours spent in one of the most beautiful countries on earth.
The round arches divided the stand into a catering and a seating area without sacrifing a connection to the exterior. The design of the façade required considerable care: The motifs and ornamentation were applied in part with foil cut-outs, partly sprayed and brushed by hand and included many subtle details that conveyed the authenticity of the company.
Customers and the client felt as if they were in a fantasy world at the stand, which was designed with a mixture of real elements - such as original confectionery appliances in high-gloss finish – that were presented in retro chic elements such as biscuit jars and counter surfaces made of imitation marble. Genuine, historical and very special.
